So it has been a month since I have posted. I have however taken pictures which is what is important. The other day I went to a graduation party for an old family friend. I feel really old as I have known her since she was 8 years old. As part of the festivities we set up glow in the dark cricket goals. There were many glow sticks used so as fun we had her run around with them in the dark during a long exposure.

I find that when I do something I want to do it great. This fact leads me to look for the best of the best photos and try to reproduce them to some mixed and usually disappointing results. So I am trying to take more inititive to photograph more as I really do love it. However, I have discovered I don’t lead an interesting life which means sometimes I get very random pictures like the one in this post. Just for fun I hope you enjoy.

So I have been very busy and due to this fact I have not been shooting nearly as much as I would like. I get home and I think of doing it only to find that the effort and the fact I am still not good becomes overwhelming. This fact leads to anything on tv being hypnotic. So I decided that even though I am late with the week’s assignment I am going to post anyway. The picture is of the one place in my house where I could find food after putting off shopping for a whole month.

Since the first night I got my camera I started taking pictures of water from the faucet. I have seen so many completely awesome shots. It is amazing to see the surroundings through the drop of water. Above was one specific drop using the macro lens I have. Even though I have spent more time on drops of water than any other area of photos. I have no idea why but this is my bane. Thanks to the digital-photography-school.com blog someone pointed out that flash is perfect for stopping time. These are my tries at that. Below is where I decided to highten my odds of getting a good few drops.

So for a photo shoot idea my buddy Nate suggested Nelson, NV. The smallest town I have ever been to that is still considered a collection of buildings. Now just south of that there is a historic district which is where we spent some time. Lots of rusty things.

Apparently, this area has been the subject of of many movies and music videos. It is appealing to many for its rustic appeal and history and just plain rust. It does feel much older than anything we get much exposure to in Las Vegas. Plus, some of the bluest skies I have seen in a while.

So after much fun and picture taking all over the place…well all over means about 2 blocks we donated some money and headed down a little more south. Apparently, in some places there are large collections of water that form naturally called rivers. Since we didn’t believe such things existed we found one. It was pretty amazing and got some great landscapes from it.

I love clouds and these over the water were awesome. I didn’t do it justice. Still it was an awesome site.

Today was a very down day. Not sure why. Could be the stars or could be that when I don’t sleep well for 5 or so days I get quiet. Either way needed a little alone time so ended up heading over to good ol Sunset Park. For all who don’t live in the vicinity this is a large park where they try to have a lake, trees and grass. None of which occur naturally in the middle of the desert. So around sunset I went and took some pictures while contemplating life, the universe and everything.

1. 5:30am
2. I don’t do physical activity ever

A quarter of the way up I wanted to stop. Half way up I wanted to die and after that it got bad. Luckily a friend of mine was there to lie to me until we were up at the summit. However while at the top I did get a couple of pictures. Click on either and you will get the whole thing.
